IIM Ahmedabad To Conduct CAT Exam 2021: Registration, Dates, Pattern
Conducting body of the CAT exam, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), will release the details for CAT exam 2021 in the last week of July. Following the trends from the previous sessions, the CAT exam is conducted on the last Sunday of November. The national-level entrance exam is administered for MBA admission in IIMs and other reputed b-schools.
CAT exam is conducted online in more than 400 exam centres across India. Test takers need to answer 100 questions from three different sections within a time duration of 180 minutes. For CAT 2020, the number of questions and time limit was cut down to 76 questions to be answered within 120 minutes.
Every year, lakhs of candidates take the Common Admission Test. In the previous admission session, approximately 2.28 lakh candidates had registered for the CAT exam. From which, nearly 1.90 lakh candidates took the exam.

Following the trend, IIM Ahmedabad is conducting the CAT exam 2021. IIM Ahmedabad had conducted CAT previously for the 2015 examination session.
CAT Eligibility Criteria
Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree with a 50 per cent aggregate score are eligible to appear for the CAT exam. Reserved category candidates have a 5% relaxation in the score of the qualifying exam. Candidates whose results are yet to be released can also appear for the exam.

CAT Registration Process
MBA aspirants can fill the CAT registration form via an online window made available at iimcat.ac.in. Candidates create a login ID using their mobile number email ID. Several details including personal and academic details will have specified space in the CAT application form. Candidates need to upload documents in the specified format and size. In addition to filling in the details and uploading the documents, candidates need to pay the CAT application fee of Rs 2,000 (Rs 1,000 for reserved category).
CAT Exam Pattern and Syllabus
IIM conducts CAT in a computer-based mode. Candidates need to answer as many as 76 questions within a time duration of 120 minutes. The question paper is designed from three sections, namely Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DI-LR), and Quantitative Ability.
CAT Admit Card
All the registered candidates will be issued the CAT hall ticket. Applicants can download the admit card for the CAT exam using the login credentials generated at the time of application form fill up. Candidates failing to carry a hard copy of the CAT admit card to the examination centre shall face denial in the entry to the examination hall.
CAT Exam Result
IIM releases the CAT result at the official website iimcat.ac.in. Candidates can visit the site and access the IIM CAT candidate login to check the result. Besides releasing the result, IIM shall also issue the scorecard to all the candidates clearing the CAT exam.
